The most comprehensive assessment process includes a range of motion analysis, 3D motion capture (efficiency/ sequencing measure), and golf-specific movement pattern testing. The assessment process provides quantifiable, metric-based data utilized to benchmark current physical performance outputs and design each player a personalized golf-fitness training program that will reduce the risk of injury and improve the biomechanical efficiency for golf performance. Comprehensive golf diagnostic services utilizing state-of-the-art technology including the K-Vest TPI 3-D Motion Capture System, TrackMan Analysis, and High-Speed video analysis.
Muscle Activation Techniques™
Muscle Activation Techniques™ (MAT™) is a specific and unique process for evaluating an individual’s ability to produce efficient muscle contraction. Loss of muscle contraction can result in a reduced range of motion, and thus a limited physical performance. Range of motion testing can indicate which muscles have decreased force outputs, and precise forces are applied to restore the specific muscle’s contractile efficiency. The MAT™ Certified Specialist is trained and certified to perform several force application techniques that can restore function and strengthen weak muscles.
MAT™ is effective for increasing range of motion, restoring muscle contractile efficiency, injury prevention, and post injury rehabilitation. MAT™ has been successfully implemented with professional athletes (PGA, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB) in clinical rehabilitative and personal training environments.
K-Vest TPI 3D Analysis
The K-VEST TPI 3D Edition is a state of the art wireless motion analysis “engine” that is specifically designed to measure golf swing motion and efficiency using a respected biomechanics principle called the Kinematic Sequence. The objective information is then used to quantify the swing efficiency of a player. A combination of exercises and motor patterns changes to support physical strength, mobility, or stability are then provided to enable the player to create a golf swing that is more efficient; the end goal is more distance and/or accuracy.
The 3-D evaluation process provides layers of information, including body positions, joint angles, kinematic sequencing (an efficiency measure), segment rotations and velocities. The 3-D evaluation also can see where the body is being positioned with undo stress, helping to prevent injury. The K-Vest TPI 3D combines visual and auditory biofeedback to provide players with feedback on swing drills (full swing/short game) as well as stability/mobility based exercises. All biofeedback programs are fully customizable based on desired style and a player’s physical abilities.
Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Physical Assessment
The TPI 16 test physical assessment is a starting-point is designed to identify if player has the required mobility, stability, and coordination to create an efficient swing. In addition, the assessment identifies underlying issues that can ultimately lead to injury. This evaluation helps the student understand the type of swing style that best fits the player, while reducing risk of injury. The Titleist Performance Institute physical assessment screen teaches students the fundamental concepts of the Body-Swing Connection; how many of the most common swing characteristics and loss of swing efficiency are directly connected to how the body is functioning. The TPI physical screen is the fundamental concept that changed the course of the golf fitness industry and what it means to be fit to play golf.
